Today we created a wiki, showing an impressive amount of knowledge in the class :)  Remember this is a public site that anyone can edit and update, so what you've posted isn't necessarily what will stay there...

Video and live streaming

Going to look at Skype today, and make use of the long classroom to have a discussion without shouting across the room!  We'll also look at adding more varied content to blogs... how about posting a video this week instead of just text.

Keeping Up

Some interesting blog posts coming out, but many could be more relevant and frequent!  Others need more comments to get started... check out the class blogs and help them out :)

So far we've had a look at sites focusing on role play/mini me (Gaia, Habbo Hotel), Twitter, MySpace (Shaun gave a demo) and thought about the type of personal info you post on any sites.  Some also looked in to creating their own social networking site on Ning.  Before we move on, you should all complete the exercise from last week (reviewing what we've done so far) - but this time actually read the blogs and put some thought in to your replies!

How about creating a quiz or vote on your blog to see what different sites are used for.  Make sure you answer my new poll (on right beside this post).

Sharing

Are you sharing TMI on social sites?  For many of you, this isn't true of your blogs (yet!).
Have a look at this article on HowStuffWorks and post in your own blog about this.

Exploring new networks

Today's tasks:

• make sure everyone has created a blog and made a first post
• check out gaia online
• look in to creating our own social network (e.g. see 38minutes)

Maybe see how long we can last in class by communicating only through social media :)
